Welcome to Pyongyang Papers, we are a free library resource that members of the public can search to find:
- identities of accused DPRK sanctions evaders, arms dealers and facilitators.
- possible DPRK front companies.
- DPRK ships and aircraft.
The data is drawn from sanctions lists, the international press, think tanks and pressure groups*.
Pyongyang Papers began as a collaboration between two close friends, one of us has family ties in North Korea and learned how DPRK makes money abroad from that route, the other had the skills to run this website.
We could not have succeeded without the help of friends and family trawling news sites or readers sending in their own research. When this has led to us seeing links, we have written it into a detailed investigation.
Help us to shine a light on DPRK’s illicit activities worldwide – if you have information related to North Korea that you want us to share with the world, send us a message via the Contact us page. Please note that the inbox is not watched full time, we will reply as soon as possible.
More investigations and analysis will be coming soon.
*Where data in our database is taken from other websites, we haven’t checked or verified it. Links to the original sources are provided in the search results.
